Founding Farmers & Distillers in Washington, DC has proudly secured its spot on Yelp’s best 100 burger spots in the United States. With a wide variety of delicious burgers to offer, including our very own veggie burger, our Founding Farmers restaurants have become a go-to destination for burger enthusiasts. 

We’re doing everything we can at Founding Farmers to ensure the utmost safety for our guests and our team as we continue to provide food and provisions for our communities during COVID-19. 

Architecture DC featured an article celebrating Founding Farmers Fishers & Bakers and Grizform Design Architects, the architecture firm behind the redesign of our restaurant.  Where some environmentally-conscious restaurants might have to sacrifice esthetic design for sustainability, Founding Farmers Fishers & Bakers was able to retain our farmhouse style, yet keeping the environment and environmentally-sound best practices in the forefront of their overall design. 

Griz Dwight, president and founder of Grizform Design Architects is a go-to architect for many restaurateurs in the Washington, DC area. Griz Dwight was the mastermind behind Founding Farmers Fishers & Bakers redesign in 2012.

Last night, Co-Owner Dan Simons and our team were thrilled to accept the Maryland Green Registry’s Leadership Award for MoCo’s Founding Farmers from Maryland Secretary of the Environment, Ben Grumbles, and the Maryland Department of the Environment.

Last night, members of our team celebrated our win as one of the Greater Washington, D.C. area’s Best Places to Work by the Washington Business Journal.  We couldn’t be more proud. Of course, we thank the Washington Business Journal for this nomination and win.

Founding Farmers won two major awards from the Green Restaurant Association last week for our daily efforts to operate sustainably. The People’s Choice Award, which is voted on by the public, named Farmers Restaurant Group (FRG), which owns and operates Founding Farmers, as their favorite green restaurants in the nation. 

Our Pennsylvania Founding Farmers in King of Prussia won Best Brunch from Philadelphia’s Main Line Today magazine. An annual reader’s pick award, we are delighted to be a neighborhood favorite, especially since we are the new kids on the block.
