Founding Farmers is ready for the Kentucky Derby, and if you haven’t stopped by, you should, because we are already celebrating what has been coined “the greatest two minutes in sports.” We are pre-gaming for the Derby all week with several takes on the Mint Julep, the traditional cocktail of Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby for nearly a century now, using our very own Founding Spirits American Whiskey, including: “Never Bitter” Julep with Founding Spirits American Whiskey, mint, and bitters, topped with Founding Spirits American Amaro; TR Julep with Founding Spirits American Whiskey, mint, and bitters; and the 1924 Julep with Founding Spirits American Whiskey, mint, aromatic bitters, and cherry.

Founding Farmers was onsite last weekend when The George Washington University Apiary installed six new honey bee hives. We support this undergraduate urban beekeeping research project, which includes a dozen hives atop a campus building in downtown DC.

This year’s Readers Picks from Washington City Paper are out, and Founding Farmers DC on Pennsylvania Avenue has been named DC’s Best Downtown Lunch and DC’s Best Bloody Mary. As our flagship Founding Farmers, we are delighted that the readers themselves, our neighbors across the DC metro area, have voted us as their favorite lunch spot.

Our latest Founding Farmers in Reston Station is now officially open for business seven days a week, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with our famous Farmers Market Buffet Brunch served on Sundays.

With the opening of our restaurant at Reston Station just days away, some of our guests who made reservations for a meal during our first two weeks won a chance to get a sneak peak, behind the scenes look at our latest Founding Farmers.

One day of good beer and whiskey, and to celebrate Irish heritage, isn’t enough for us at Founding Farmers. We are celebrating St. Patrick’s Day all week long. While we won’t be dying anything green, we are serving up a festival of tasty cocktails.

As far as we’re concerned, spring can’t get here soon enough. We are all so excited to say hello to our newest restaurant. On April 11, 2018, we are opening our Founding Farmers in Reston Station, VA!
