Rachel Denny
Finding endless inspiration, honesty, and beauty in animal imagery, Rachel Denny is a fan of incorporating playful, whimsical elements into her interpretive art. These knitted bunnies are a favorite at Founding Farmers Tysons and Founding Farmers Alexandria.

Denny has also created a pair of bald eagles for our Alexandria restaurant. We chose to feature bald eagles as a patriotic nod to our national bird and as a recognition of their presence nesting along the shores of the Potomac River in Alexandria, Virginia.
Denny is best known for her “Domestic Trophies,” animal mounts covered in cozy cashmere woolens. “My sculptures weave everyday objects with the animal form to create new layers of information,” she says. “Beautiful yet absurd creatures that are half wild yet domesticated by human intervention reflecting the ebb and flow of our actions.” Her work is an exploration of the seductive beauty of our natural world and the imprint that human intervention has made on its flora and fauna. Denny lives and works in her rural studio outside of Portland, Oregon.
