Justin Mingus
As a maker of handmade quilts, Justin Mingus finds joy in weaving memories, stories, and emotions into every stitch. Inspired by vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and the endless possibilities of weaving fabrics, Mingus created a custom quilt for Founding Farmers Alexandria.
Mingus’s hand-stitched, patriotic American flag quilt uses floral patterns and textural quilting instead of our traditional stars and stripes. “I find joy weaving memories, stories, and emotions into every stitch,” he says. “My quilts are more than functional objects—they’re heirlooms that celebrate individuality, honor tradition, and bring comfort to cherished spaces. Inspired by vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and the endless possibilities of fabric, I create each piece with care, precision, and a touch of whimsy.” Every quilt Mingus creates is an opportunity to connect, inspire, and leave a lasting impression.
