Pastry Chef Melanie Parker

Before joining Founding Farmers, Melanie served as Pastry Chef at Washington D.C.’s Equinox Restaurant, where she received nominations to the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington RAMMY Award for Pastry Chef of the Year, in both 2008 and 2009.

Well versed in the Washington, D.C., culinary scene, Chef Parker has served as Pastry Chef at Addie’s Restaurant in Rockville, Maryland, and has lent her expertise to Bob Kinkead’s Colvin Run Tavern in Vienna, Va.; and also to Washington, D.C., establishments BlackSalt, the Madison Hotel, the Sofitel Lafayette Square, and Kinkead’s Restaurant.

Chef Parker served as an apprentice at Bocuse d’Or in Lyon, France, and received both a Diploma in Pastry Arts and a Diploma in Culinary Arts from L’Academie de Cuisine of Gaithersburg, Md. A true star, both in and out of the kitchen, Chef Parker has given numerous television and news program appearances and has been featured in many regional print interviews. Chef Parker’s true love for all things pastry is a welcome addition to Founding Farmers, as her expertise mirrors the restaurant’s dedication to fresh and inspired true food and drink—with a sweeter, more decadent touch!
