Roosters get up at the crack of dawn, and so do our bakers, pastry chefs, and cooks — in order to help your workday kick off in a really delicious way. Starting Tuesday, February 21, our D.C. location will be serving breakfast Monday through Friday starting at 7:00 a.m., and just in time to celebrate the final week of Hot Breakfast Month!
Not only that, but the D.C. breakfast menu includes several new dishes to satisfy your first-meal-of-the-day needs. Who’s in the mood for some Red Velvet Buttermilk Pancakes?
We’re looking forward to the time when we can get on the road ourselves and trying out the other dining spots named in these two lists — they all sound amazing. Congratulations to everyone for their successful focus on sustainable food service, from ingredient sourcing to restaurant design.
In 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue. Move those numbers around and you get 1924, as in the address of Founding Farmers’ flagship restaurant, and the place where you can honor Christopher Columbus’ adventurous spirit with brunch on Monday, October 9, from 8am-2pm, with full lunch menu available starting at 11am.
After all, he did cross the Atlantic four times without the advantage of GPS or a power motor. You have the advantage of those things, and no worry of scurvy with our hand squeezed orange juice to go with your Farmers Scramble, with a stack of delicious fluffy pancakes, or the ‘Hangover Special’ if you had already been celebrating the achievements of the explorer credited with discovering the ‘New World.’ If a Columbus Day holiday isn’t in your schedule, join us for lunch or dinner to help forget about all the other folks that aren’t working. After all, Columbus didn’t take a day off when he was on that ship!
Check out Real Time Farms for an interactive guide to the farms that source the delicious and fresh ingredients here at Founding Farmers. For instance, our famous Bacon Lollis are made with Nueske’s bacon from Wittenberg, Wisconsin, and our flour for our house-made breads and pastas comes from a mill in North Dakota. Stay in the know of our delicious food sources!
Seasons change, and so does the Founding Farmers menu. Now that the warm weather is here, we’ve updated our lunch and dinner selections to offer tasty choices for your summer dining pleasure. A few highlights:

Simple Plates: Tuck into a serving of something delicious, light, and healthy with three different protein and grain salad pairings — fish + barley, chicken + quinoa, beef + red rice — all of which can be made to order.
Breakfast All Day: You asked for it, you got it. We’ve added several of the most popular morning items to our anytime menu. Waffles after 2 p.m.? Why not!
