The popular luxury lifestyle guide, Couturelite writes that “a culinary tour de force [of Washington] would not be complete without parting dinner at Founding Farmers.” Pictured below is our Fried Green Tomatoes with Herb Goat Cheese and Green Goddess Dips, a menu must-try and a favorite of Couturelite.

Founding Farmers celebrated its second anniversary on September 18. Since opening, the restaurant has been reviewed by Yelpers more than 780 times – more than one review per day. Dan Simons, Principal of VSAG and Concept Developer of Founding Farmers, has responded to every single one of those reviews.
He and his commitment to interacting with every guest who takes time to comment on their experience, is the subject of today’s Yelp Web Log. Check it out. Comments welcome.

On August 6, Founding Farmers Sous Chef, Lisa Frantz, joined JC Hayward on CBS 9 News Now at Noon for a special cooking demonstration. The two whipped up Chocolate Stout Farmhouse Waffles from our newly released Vegan-friendly menu. This decadent and sweet breakfast is our signature, iron-pressed waffle made with soymilk and Sam Smith Oatmeal Stout and topped with fresh banana slices and our homemade vegan caramel sauce. The recipe is now available on the WUSA 9 website to recreate at home!

The July/August issue of Food Network Magazine names the best breakfast in every state. Our Fried Chicken, Eggs and Waffles took first prize on the Washington, D.C. leg of the cross-country breakfast road trip. This dish received top marks for being “as eco-friendly as it is delicious.” Founding Farmers uses free-range chicken and eggs, whole wheat flour and antibiotic-free cream and butter to make this popular meal.
We are proud to be recognized alongside some of the tastiest hotcakes, scrambles, grits, waffles, pastries and frittatas in the country.

Cypress tree communal table at FF
Communal dining – like farm families do – is a somewhat new trend as profiled by the Express Night Out guide today, but at Founding Farmers, it’s how we came up with the idea for the restaurant – sitting around a big, long table, with farmers, of course!
In farmhouses all over, there is usually a long wooden table that lots of folks can gather around, communal-style. In the modern farmhouse setting at Founding Farmers – replete with barnwoods – communal tables are perfect to share a meal with friends, acquaintances and maybe even strangers that can become more than friends…
Book a communal table now – and look forward to some farmhouse dining!
Founding Farmers has released the new cocktail menu—featuring the classics you’ve come to love and adding a few more to keep you coming back for more, including a Recession Proof menu for the Recessionistas out there. Chief Mixologist, Jon Arroyo, has worked to create a menu that will please any palate. Check it out below and come by for a few drinks after work or enjoy a few before, during and after a meal!
