Atmosphere

Located just three blocks West of the White House, Founding Farmers is a very cool farmhouse with old wood, comfortable seating and beautiful community farm tables where family and friends can gather and enjoy a great meal.  The first floor holds the main dining room and bar area with a mix of booth and table seating.   Up the grand stair, framed on one side by the exterior wall of the IMF building, find the mezzanine’s silo-shaped booths and more handcrafted community tables, plus smaller, cozy arrangements for a more intimate setting.

Designed by award-winning CORE architecture + design, the restaurant has interesting and unique elements everywhere you turn, from the front door to the pastry bar, the mezzanine to the restrooms. During the day sunlight floods the space to reveal subtle features and finishes, and the combination of old and new handcrafted details.  At night the restaurant glows with beautiful, ambient lighting and great shadows that create this dynamic space.
